I help women – professionals, executives and business-owners – answer the question “Will I have enough?” Enough to maintain my lifestyle throughout my retirement, enough to experience things on my bucket list, enough to take care of my family if something should happen to me, enough to leave a legacy in my community? Having previously been a tax partner in a Big Four accounting firm, I draw on a breadth of tax and accounting knowledge to assist clients to develop a comprehensive financial and investment plan to address a variety of financial and income situations, considering tax planning, retirement income planning, wealth transfer and even business succession.
What do you hope to give or receive from your membership in the WBN?
I appreciate the camaraderie of the network and the opportunity to help women improve their financial literacy and empowerment which is still often the bastion of men.
What’s the business advice you would give today to your younger self?
Trust yourself. Take the risk earlier – who better to bet on than yourself?
Who would be invited to your dream dinner party?
Dave Matthews – music has a profound effect on my mood and his songs evoke such emotion – his lyrics are deep and meaningful. My husband surprised me by slipping a Dave Matthews Band CD in my backpack (I just dated myself) before I left on a solo trip around Europe and it is still a go-to for me in my playlist. Others would include Andrew Dworkin to push my thinking around feminism, Rohinton Mistry, author of one of the most compelling books about the strength of the human will in the face of extreme misery and hopelessness.
What’s one thing people would be surprised to learn about you?
I love Ultimate (Frisbee). I blew my knee out playing but am looking to get back into the game!
