CONGRATS TO ALL OF OUR FINALISTS AND RECIPIENTS – YOU are marvelous, inspiring, and amazing role models.
I have been given the task to thank our sponsors and partners, before I do, I will share some initiatives that demonstrate how the WBN continues to evolve and embrace today’s women in business. New membership categories, skill base development, an ambassador program, member only benefits, increased participation within the business community and more networking opportunities to strut your stuff.
Quoting from an Article in the Huffington Post ‘Women’s Networking Groups provide lucrative opportunities and added value to the bottom line. …they are power circles that enhance personal, professional and Company brands. ‘The success of a person’s career depends on the strength of her network.’
The WBN believes in and supports giving back to the Community.
Scholarships recognizing female student achievements from Ottawa U, Carleton U and Algonquin are awarded annually.
In addition to the scholarships, WBN fundraising activities support the charity ‘Healthy Women Healthy Community’, a 20M Ottawa Hospital project in support of women’s health research, care and awareness. I would like to recognize Jennifer Van Noort, Vice President, Philanthropy The Ottawa Hospital Foundation.
WBN supports ‘My First Suit’ which provides support for women transitioning back into the workplace. Co founders are Nicole Loreto Vice-President, Communications & Partnerships of The Royal Ottawa Hospital and Sandra Tisiot creator of MyLifeLocker and Founder of the WomenInBusiness Conference.
