In past blogs, Sister Leadership has shared stories through the many lenses of perception. We have taken a look at what spiritual intelligence is, explored emotional intelligence (EQ) and more recently taken a look at how our logical mind sees the world of spirituality.

Now we plan to go deeper by delving into the intrapersonal intelligence we all possess, some more than others. The upcoming new theme of Self-awareness Smart ties into both EQ and Logical Smart as it’s about embracing our own thoughts and feelings that shape our realities of how we choose to show up in this world.

Let me paint you a picture of how it feels to be self-aware. It’s like a refreshing evening breeze during a summer night that lightly touches your face and makes you smile after a long hot day of sun. It’s sitting on the porch in your favourite rocking chair sipping a cold Starbucks ice tea, enjoying that light breeze.

Or, you’ve just opened all the windows and doors to the cottage to let air flow through. The cross winds bring the soothing relief of coolness and calm following the after-supper kitchen chatter.

It’s that moment of quiet ecstasy – one where you ask yourself without even realizing it: How am I feeling right now? What would you say to yourself in that moment?

Self-Awareness has to do with introspective and self-reflective capacities, which refers to having a deep understanding of the self: what one’s strengths and weaknesses are, what makes one unique, being able to predict one’s own reactions and emotions.

You might also say that the bridge from the past blog theme of Logical Smart will be an easy route to Self-awareness Smart. It’s about going inside to gain clarity about how we see the world we live in and how to be accountable as co-creators of our realities.

Self-awareness is about taking ownership of your choices and acknowledging where you are at. Some of us live in a blissful place of conscious awareness. It is, in my opinion, the fundamental agent of change. It’s a way to move into new choice points that serve our higher purpose.

As you welcome the thoughts and feelings that work for you, make sure to celebrate them! This series will serve up lots of anecdotal evidence, stories and tools to help you navigate more self-awareness in your life. The core of what we would like to share with you is simple.

As you become more and more aware of your inner power, your purpose is revealed. Your connection to self, your knowledge of yourself opens the door to your limitless power of purpose, higher self, Creator, God, Buddha, Christ Consciousness, Mother Nature or whatever energy you call it.

So stay tuned and hang on. It’s going to be a fantastic series. And thank you so much for being part of this ongoing story of Sister Leadership.

Till next week,
