Founder and Head Coach, Spice! Leadership

I elevate the voices of those who have something new to say. As a public speaking coach I help clients work through their fears and embrace their own voices, so that public speaking becomes a joyful experience. During the summer, I run leadership camps that equip tween girls with the confidence, critical thinking and communication skills that will help them take their places in government, in business, in their careers and in their communities.

What is your favorite part of being a member of the WBN? If you are a newer member, what do you hope to give or receive from your membership in the WBN?

I love the community that I’ve found in the WBN. There’s no substitute for having a tribe of women who understand the joys and struggles of entrepreneurship; who value, inspire and help each other at every step.

What’s the business advice you would give today to your younger self?

Don’t try to do it all yourself! Get a coach from Day 1. Surround yourself with people who know what they’re talking about – people who have experienced both success AND failure – and listen to them.

Who would be invited to your dream dinner party?

Carrie Fisher – a complex, fierce and talented woman who refused to let others define her. She dared to be vulnerable in front of the world and to be unapologetically herself. When I grow up, I hope to have a fraction of her no-nonsense attitude and killer sense of humour.

What’s one thing people would be surprised to learn about you?

I was captain of my high school cheerleading team! I was shy, clumsy and awkward as a preteen but cheerleading brought me out of my shell and showed me the joys of spending time in the spotlight. I’m still shy, clumsy and awkward, but I no longer let those things limit what I can do.
