President’s Message on – Making a Difference

December is here, the Christmas lights are sparkling in the city night and the holiday season is in full swing. It is hard to believe that 2014 is almost over. As a businesswoman, I’m frantically trying to keep on top of my work and trying to plan the festivities through-out the holidays.

The theme for the month of December is “Making a Difference” which is very timely for the holiday season. Each one of us already makes a difference in our family life and in our work life but let’s make a difference in a stranger’s life. This year as part of the President’s Holiday Party, on December 11th, (Click here to register) the WBN members will be supporting our charity of choice “Suit Me” with gently used clothing for women re-emerging into the working world.  The mission of Suits Me is to provide professional clothing to every woman in need in the Ottawa region. As women, we all know that the first impressions count. I hope to see everyone at the President’s Holiday Charity Reception & Originals Christmas Craft Show.

Also as part of the festive season, I challenge every WBN member to make a difference in a stranger’s life. While many of us enjoy this season, but there are many people who do not. Consider what you can do to help or support another person.

Thank you to everyone who nominated deserving businesswomen in the National Capital Region and a bigger thank you to all those deserving businesswomen who completed their submission packages. I look forward to meeting the finalist of the Businesswoman of the Year Award in March 2015.

Enjoy the holiday season and I’ll see you in 2015!
